Location:
Set in beautiful tropical gardens which slope down to the secluded Arnos
Vale Bay and a small sandy beach. Approximately 30 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the
capital Scarborough.
Facilities:
Built on a 400 acre sugar plantation,
Arnos Vale has retained the charm and slightly old - fashioned air of a
previous era. ( Princess Margaret spent her honeymoon here over 40 years ago.)
The restaurant, bar and lounge are found in the elevated Manor
House where a special bird watching ceremony is held each day during
afternoon tea.
Fresh local produce and international cuisine are served
for dinner and there is occasional evening entertainment.
Tennis and snorkelling are complimentary, (the snorkelling is particularly
good), and there is a swimming pool with swim-up bar.
Guided
nature tours can be organised ( for a small charge ) to walk through the
centuries old Forest Reserve, and diving, sailing and fishing can also
be arranged .
Arnos Vale blends against the gentle
slopes of a 450 acre tropical paradise, full of rare and beautiful
birds. It has a secluded beach and pristine coral reef, Combining a rich
historic past with modern conveniences. (It was once a thriving sugar
plantation) the Arnos Vale Hotel and Restaurant is a must fro nature
lovers.
This
hotel has 30
rooms:
All are simply furnished and have air conditioning, ceiling fan,
shower, telephone and balcony or terrace.
Standard
are either in the wing by the beach or on the
hillside. The “Crows Nest”
cottage is on the hillside.
Opinion:
A
small, quiet hotel in a lovely setting.
Ideal for those
seeking rest and relaxation.
Not suited to those with walking
difficulties as the hotel is on a hillside and it is a steep walk up
from the beach.
